What is the dissertation boot camp training program?


The dissertation boot camp consists of synchronous (LIVE) and interactive online workshops relevant to writing a dissertation and surviving a research review process. Workshops are designed for academic doctoral candidates and students pursuing either a Ph.D. or Professional doctorate within an institution doctorate degree program. Workshops include research methodology, data analysis software management (SPSS, NVivo, AtLasTi), academic writing, library research, and information literacy. Workshops are offered over 8 weeks for pre-proposal candidates/students having no approved literature review or 12-weeks for post-proposal candidates/students with approved literature reviews. Our small class size workshops ensure Instructor/peer engagement, immediate feedback, and project collaboration.




Who is the dissertation boot camp training program for?


Academic doctoral candidates and student currently enrolled in a doctorate degree program within a Higher Education Institution (PhD or Professional Doctorate: DBA, DIT, EdD, DSW, Dr.PH, DHA, DPA, PsyD, DNP) undertaking qualitative, quantitative, mixed method or undecided research methodological frameworks.




What programs are available in the dissertation boot camp program?


We offer 2 programs, an 8-week and 12-week program.

  • The 8-week Program
    The Pre-proposal program will help students establish and develop the foundational design and framework for their entire research study in preparation for moving to the post-prolopment phases of writing a premise, prospectus, proposal, doctoral study, capstone project. Developposal stages. Preproposal stages are for doctoral candidates and student who are in the deveing research questions, problem, purpose statement, background, conceptual /theoretical framework, literature review, or working on doctoral course work.
  • The 12-week Program
    The Post-proposal program will help navigate students in the IRB, research implementation, and data analysis process to completion of a conferred degree. Students enrolled in the 12-week program have a completed and approved literature review. Currently working on an IRB application, in IRB, collecting data, analyzing data, preparing for an oral defense, writing the discussion, results narrative.




How do I know which workshops to sign up for?


If you DO NOT have a completed and approved literature review, chapter 2, and in the development stages of your prospectus, proposal, premise, or currently completing your doctoral course-work you would enroll in the pre-proposal 8- week program. If you HAVE a completed and APPROVED literature review, preparing or in IRB, collecting data, or conducting data analysis you would enroll in the post-proposal 12-week program.




How many workshops do I take in the 8-week or 12-week program?


You take 2 workshops per week for the duration of your selected program on Saturdays ONLY.

  1. 8-Week Pre-Proposal Program: Attend 2 workshops per/week for 8 weeks. Totaling 16 workshops
  2. 12-Week Post Proposal Program: Attend 2 workshops per/week for 12 weeks. Totaling 24 workshops

What happens after I enroll/register for my program?


Congratulations you have just invested in yourself! • Step# 1: You will be assigned to a methodology cohort group of learners based on your methodology indicated in your enrollment form o Cohort A: Qualitative Group o Cohort B: Quantitative Group o Cohort C: Mixed-Method o Cohort D: Methodology Exploration/Undecided • Step# 2: Receive a welcome package gift in the mail. You will receive a welcome note, student handbook, scholar magazine, syllabus, class schedule, and instructions on how to access your workshops. • Step# 3: 1 week before the start of the scheduled workshops our administrative team, and instructors will contact you to introduce themselves and welcome you to the boot camp program, and to answer any questions you may have about the program. • Step# 4: Receive 2 emails at (4:00 am/est) on instructions on how to access your workshops. o 1st Email: Library Research/Information Literacy workshop access information. o 2 nd Email: Cohort Specific (A, B, C, D) workshop link




How big are the workshops?


Book your seat right away - seating is intentially limited! The maximum student cohort enrollment is 6. Workshops are intentionally kept small in sizes to ensure student/instructor engagement, immediate feedback, and project collaboration.

Yes, A split (50%) payment option is available for both the 8-week program and 12-week program.




Is there a scholarship available for the program?

What if I need to cancel or transfer my enrollment?


  • Cancel Policy: No refunds. You can request to cancel your enrollment at any time and join another session (contingent upon seating availability) within a 6-month period from your initial enrollment date. Your initial or full payment will be transferred to the assigned session (contingent upon availability). Enrollment expiration (beyond 6-months) will result in losing your initial or full payment and will become a donation to Scholars Professional Editing Group LLC. Transaction fees or changes in program enrollment fee may change at any time, and you would be responsible for paying the difference owed.
